There’s nothing more important to me than our users — we owe our success to our Blendr community who have helped spread the word about their great experiences. We did want to respond to recent media reports that incorrectly associated Blendr with an incident on our other social networking application. As a result of an ongoing investigation in our other social networking application, we took legal and technological actions to block a site that violated our terms of service. This site impacted a small number of primarily Australian users on our other network, and it remains shut down. Blendr users were not affected by this site.
Your security and the security of our platform is a core priority. Like other responsible companies, we don’t comment on specifics of security enhancements or allegations about network issues – that wouldn’t serve the security of our users, our networks, or web security in general.
Even though Blendr users were unaffected by this incident, we are continuously making improvements to our platform to increase security across our networks. We are releasing a mandatory update to our apps over the next few days to enhance security. When the update is available, users will be notified via in-app messaging, on Twitter and on this blog post. As always, our users can be assured that Blendr does not retain credit card information, or addresses – and no such information has ever been compromised.
While we’re always looking at ways to enhance our apps and keep our user data secure, we also rely on you, the Blendr community to help us keep Blendr safe. Please report any suspicious incidents that you may come across by emailing review@blendr.com.
