The Importance of Community in Keeping Blendr Secure

Posted on Jan 20, 2012 by Blendr Team

There’s nothing more important to me than our users — we owe our success to our Blendr community who have helped spread the word about their great experiences.  We did want to respond to recent media reports that incorrectly associated Blendr with an incident on our other social networking application.  As a result of an ongoing investigation in our other social networking application, we took legal and technological actions to block a site that violated our terms of service. This site impacted a small number of primarily Australian users on our other network, and it remains shut down. Blendr users were not affected by this site.

Your security and the security of our platform is a core priority. Like other responsible companies, we don’t comment on specifics of security enhancements or allegations about network issues – that wouldn’t serve the security of our users, our networks, or web security in general.

Even though Blendr users were unaffected by this incident, we are continuously making improvements to our platform to increase security across our networks. We are releasing a mandatory update to our apps over the next few days to enhance security. When the update is available, users will be notified via in-app messaging, on Twitter and on this blog post. As always, our users can be assured that Blendr does not retain credit card information, or addresses – and no such information has ever been compromised.

While we’re always looking at ways to enhance our apps and keep our user data secure, we also rely on you, the Blendr community to help us keep Blendr safe. Please report any suspicious incidents that you may come across by emailing review@blendr.com.

Blendr Holiday Party at Drai’s Hollywood

Posted on Dec 19, 2011 by Blendr Team

When the excuse to throw a decent soiree calls, we must answer-- and no better excuse than the holidays. Last Wednesday December 14th, the Blendr team gathered at Drai’s lounge at The W Hotel in Hollywood to celebrate an exciting year with a budding new team.

An array of beverages including champagne, wine and beer flowed as small plates were passed around. The view atop Drai’s was certainly one to remember as sun set against the Hollywood skyline.

Looking back it’s hard to believe our team has taken shape in the short 5 months since Blendr’s launch in early September. We look forward to bringing new exciting features to Blendr in the coming year and thank you for being apart of our journey thus far.

We extend our gratitude for your support and wish you a very happy holiday season.

New Blendr Privacy Improvements in Latest Update!

Blendr Users: Upgrade now to version 1.0.13, and find out how easy it is to control who can see your profile!

Here's the deal- we've moved the visibility icon to be prominently featured at the bottom of the screen, so it's easier for you to access. Opt to be seen by just guys or girls, in a selected age range- and then choose exactly who can view your profile. Find the visibility feature (a binoculars icon) located in the middle of the settings drawer at the bottom of your screen, and update your visibility settings anytime you want, everywhere you go.

Customize your Blendr experience, and update now on the iTunes App Store here.
